A caring desire to help others was the creative force behind Back-to-Nature.

More than ten years ago Sheryl Regan, founder of Back-to-Nature and fondly nicknamed "Sherry," experienced the frustration most first time health food store visitors face - too many choices, too little knowledge. Instead, what customers needed was a collection of the best products available and good, solid information to make informed choices. Sherry would soon discover that this was the kind of service she could provide.

The idea to create a caring, knowledgeable source for both herbs and vitamins blossomed after Sherry witnessed her husband not feeling well, listless and without energy, make an incredible physical and mental turnaround after taking Taio He Cleanse - an intestine and colon cleanser - and Mega Chel - a circulatory vitamin. Nature's Sunshine recommended both products. This life changing experience motivated Sherry to join Nature's Sunshine as a distributor. As she began growing her business, a friend suggested that she open a retail store, "…a place where others can benefit from your growing knowledge and heart felt caring." And the rest was history.

Sherry's journey began in November of 1995 when she opened her first retail store in a mere 90 square feet shop at the Tonopah Mall in Tonopah, NV. Joining other grassroots businesses, Sherry displayed her products on one five-tiered shelf and an eight foot table. Six months later, when the mall closed, Sherry moved into her business's second home, sharing 450 square feet with a friend displaying products from an unrelated business. By June 1, 1996, when her friend moved next door to manage a gift shop, Back-to-Nature expanded into the remaining footage. With the assistance of another friend, recently departed Ken Allain, new shelves, counters and bookcases quickly filled the space.

Five years and 18 bookcases later, while the local papers editorializing "doom and gloom" of other business closing down Sherry moved up again. "God moved me to lights and windows" she would say, now in a much larger, brighter storefront with large windows just begging to be illuminated for that first exciting Christmas. Sherry and her friends reveled in decorating with an animated tree and all sorts of characters, even a large Santa!


A little less than a year ago she moved to her last location in Tonopah. She is now in the Ramada Inn complex known as "Tonopah Station Mall Suite A5." She enjoys helping many people as well as a lot of foreign tourists with choices. She always says,” We do not know how valuable our vitamin freedom is, at least we have choices of quality brands of supplements. "Many foreign countries have lost that freedom of choice." Our policy has always been, "Only the best for you because you deserve it: We treat you like Gold.”


Sherry is continuing to study and research the best quality products and formulas to add to her store and website to assist people with better health. She obtained her Bachelors in Marketing and is now a Certified Wellness Consultant with MLIS. She has learned about many programs and regimes for Cellulite, Weight Loss and how to reverse the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia. That latter takes three to four months using detoxification herbs and vitamins invented by an N.D. The program involves starving the yeast and changing the diet. Body wraps are also used to pull out the toxins. She also has been working with a D.O. in natural health alternatives of herbs, amino acids and vitamins.


Our website recently underwent a new look and we are continually finding and adding the finest products to our roster.
